Yea most doctors don’t know anything about it and because there is not one accepted objective test to say yes do or no you don’t have fibromyalgia like there is for other conditions docs write it off but it’s absolutely real. And there are lots of ways to manage it!

I find myself mumbling “fibromyalgia” when someone asks what I have because I just don’t want to deal with the smirk in their eyes. Went to a PT and he said—I don’t want to offend you, but fibromyalgia is JUST what they say when they don’t know what’s wrong. Geez

I understand your frustration. I have a partner that treats me like gold, yet he doesn’t understand why I can’t push through the pain. He is supportive, yet I know he will never get it. It’s hard, but I always know others have something worse. So I press on.

Yea, the looks I get when I say “fibromyalgia” make me so angry. Issues at work from absences. Boss upset because I’m not getting everything accomplished. I’m really struggling to even find an adequate treatment. So..I’m with you on this one.
