Does anyone have any really good study strategies that have worked greatly for them? I have ADHD ANDDD horrible memory. So it’s hard for me lock in on study & when I do get in those zones where I can I have trouble memorizing it. & even just in class in general, I can read an entire article and not even be able to explain what I just read. My brain is unwell

      Pomodoro method!! I LOVE it. I don’t remember what the “correct” intervals are, but you alternate short blocks of time and breaks. It’s easy to implement, you might use a pomodoro 🍅 kitchen timer 🥰 That’s where the name comes from. I usually do 30 minutes work, 15-20 minutes break, rinse and repeat until done!

      I find that my space is really important too! If I really want to get myself excited to study or do a particular task, I will go to a brand new coffee shop or a new bookstore in the town over. I find that making my scenery exciting and new helps me want to go and work there for a longer period.

      Make a game where each song you turn on is singing about what youre studying. Example, stressed out by twenty one pilots could be about a war.

      i find it very helpful to listen to really loud and aggressive hyper pop. it makes my brain calm down because there’s so much going on but it’s only one thing so i can focus on that and be ok. or if someone is speaking to me and i can’t pay attention i just repeat everything they’re saying back to myself in my brain which has helped a lot.

      Not sure if this helps, I usually write everything down. Pretty much just everything. Small things and big things are equally important. Then prioritizing them when I get home or writing them on a calendar. As for the reading thing, I’m honestly not sure. Sometimes its could to come back to it later. Good luck :) 💕

      I need to save these for later because I need to study for my ged I basically dropped out of high school. I live in a small town so I don’t wanna get mixed up in pointless drama in school. people are always trying to pick each other apart. Also for some reason some people can’t mind their own business

        @EatenByWormy yesssss, I’ve found I need lots of breaks to keep me focused. Switching off between two different activities is also really helpful for me. Like I’ll do homework until I want to quit, then I’ll do chores around the house until I’m tired of that and switch back to homework. It really helps to let my brain do what it does naturally and hop around

        @EatenByWormy Also- Beeline reader or something similar! I have ADHD AND accommodative dysfunction, both contribute to my reading comprehension. The ADHD affects my ability to absorb information and the accommodative dysfunction (eyes don’t turn in enough, so they get overworked easily) makes it hard for me to accurately track each line- I tend to read lines repeatedly (unintentionally) and I get horrible headaches without my glasses. If the second sounds like you too, go to the Neurolens website and poke around there. :) Or AMA, I’m not on the app much tho!

        @EatenByWormy There are apps that you can use too but like Well I guess most people don’t have egg timers anymore, do they 🤣

      I have to write to retain anything. I use the nebo so on my iPad to hand write everything I want to remember. I never go back and read it again, but the action of physical writing makes me remember more, and it keeps me more focused than reading. If I just read, I zone out and don't even process what I'm seeing.

        @Moomoo72 I feel like I write sooo big & sloppy on my iPad. I’m gonna try using the app you do. I looked it up it looks a lot more organized and it has lines on the pages. The app I use is just a big white no lined page ! Thank you for the suggestion, I’m gonna give it a try! 💕
