@Siyphus_Glitch omg this happens to me constantly! My body doesn’t understand positive happiness … it takes it on as anxiety and stress.

Mine absolutely does! When I'm stressing more, my stomach and gut get sensitive and eventually the IBS symptoms hit
Absolutely, I’ve had to cancel so many plans I wanted to do so bad because I was TOO excited for it and my insides decided that was cause for a flare up
anxiety is a huuuge trigger for ibs flare ups. The reaction is almost instant for me.
@Sleepysleeps same for me too?

@Crazypretty ! Not ?
my doctor says the brain and gut are super connected! They say managing anxiety can reduce ibs symptoms drastically! You should totally talk to your doctor tho!

@bomb 100% agree with this. 60% of your body’s neurotransmitters are in your gut and communicate with your brain. Also most of serotonin production happens in your gut! The hormone that makes you happy and relaxed. This is why doctors prescribe SSRIs for IBS - they calm the gut nerves and improve that gut-brain communication. But, sometimes meds are not enough. Therapy could also help. Talking to someone and managing that anxiety / stress so the toll on your gut is minimized is the first step really. Best of luck 💕
