Not sure really what to say other than why I joined. I'm a man in my 30's with Hashimotos Thyroiditis and don't really have a support group that I've found for it. I mention gender because I haven't found many men with the same disease, but I'm honestly open to discussing it with anyone. Reddit's Hashimotos group ends up being more venting than any actual problem solving/alleviating sypmtoms. A good rant is fine. In my opinion though I think it ends up taking away from your physical and mental health as opposed to working on it.
Mainly I think I'm just looking for those that understand the difficulties and can discuss them. Thank you ✌🏻
So you came to the right place 👍. I’m a 42 y/o woman. I suffer from hashimoto’s and other conditions as well. I got thyroid hormones which caused hyperthyroidism so i stopped them for a while. My hypothyroidism was first diagnosed after long months in which i was so tired and gained weight. A friend of mine asked me to test my TSH levels which i had no idea what that means
thank you! It definitely is a balance from what I've learned. I was diagnosed about 7 years ago and it's been a ride for sure.
Mostly I just feel isolated because I don't know any other men who have the disease, that and haven't had the chance to discuss my issues with anyone else who has it.
When were you diagnosed if you don't mind me asking?
Hey Venti, just wanted to confirm that I know a lot of people with Hashimoto, but never met a man, so this really seems to be rare...
Hope it is not any different in symptoms or help for you. ❤️
