I was just diagnosed with peptic ulcer, will be having a scope done and n a few days. Does the doctor generally provide anasthesia (spelling) for the procedure?
Once it has healed will I still have all the dietary and life style restrictions ie: a glass and of wine in the evening?

Upper endoscopies and colonoscopies are both done under general anesthesia. You won't feel anything during (because you'll be asleep) and there is usually minimal pain afterward (mostly sore around the throat/sphincter)
