I have very vivid, gruesome, and stress-inducing nightmares constantly. I have multiple on most nights and regularly wake up sweaty, stressed, and afraid. I'm on multiple medications but they have not helped reduce the nightmares. The nightmares have just seemed to to start taking over my life lately. What should I do?

Minor thing: I've heard sleeping in a hot room can increase nightmares, is it hot? Maybe try and make it colder like without blankets. And, don't take dreams seriously after you've woken up besides the stress it gives, they could only be expressing a fear, not necessarily express a truth about your opinions or the world.
