Any advice on how to enjoy fireworks without it triggering ptsd? Sudden noises always make my heart rate go up but I also want to be able to enjoy the events. Every year on the 4th I always struggle with it and my family just doesn’t realize it’s a symptom so they always joke about how jumpy I am too which doesn’t help issues.

taking breaks if needed, earplugs or noise cancelling headphones, and preparing in advance by doing some self care can all be helpful!
