How do I make friends to hang out with in person? I've seen others post about this recently, so at least I know I'm not the only one who struggles with it. The most common suggestion I hear is to join a group for hobbies you enjoy. I live in a very small town. I go to work, church, support group, and home. My church is so small we only have about 10 regular attendees, and they don't want to hang out outside of church. My support group is all 20+ years older than me. At work I don't know how to ask someone to hang out or get their number, and I'm afraid it will sound like I'm hitting on them when I'm really just looking for friends.

I'm too busy for friends most of the time. I do have a 5,19&20 year old at home plus work full time and tend to put little petting zoo of 8 animals. Lol

What state do you live in? I'm from Ohio so wasn't sure but I'd be friends if you were close!

Maybe try joining a club I know it’s definitely easier in a bigger city. Or you can try volunteering somewhere part time, on the weekends.

Yeah I don’t hang much with “friends” somtimes I will ask someone to do something with me “cause I don’t do much and feel like doing something.” SoMetimes it’s great and other time like yah I’m good now lol but yes it’s a struggle!!

So I have a hard time with this too! It is hard to make friends. In all walks of life. Especially when you dont feel comfortable.. There are social media apps like bumble bff that are just made for finding friends. You can filter it so that they are close by, the same age, etc. You make a profile and everything and you can message on there. I have met a couple people so far! You could most likely make friends on here too. Message me if ya want :)

I feel the same way a lot of the time. It’s difficult. Sometimes in the past I’ve just pushed myself to speak up and just deal with potentially embarrassing myself or saying stupid things, which I did a lot of the time. But even when flirting with people, sometimes I just ended up with a friend out of it. I’ve also met people working at jobs and I still have a couple good friends from high-school, maybe college is a good place to make friends. Also you could join a gym, potentially make some friends there
