Looking for Inspiration to Write Poetry

You write songs! That's cool I write songs sometimes but not all the time I want to get back to writing songs but at the moment I just want to focus on poetry first also I have this thing where a want to move on to something else and I just forget about what I was writing and Move on to something new so am just try to refocus on one poem at a time or songs

Thank you for the advice I always thought that poems had to rhyme am do more research on poetry that makes it a lot easier because sometimes it's hard to make words rhyme

I write poetry. lately I've been writing songs. Writing poetry is easy for me, I just tell stories through my experiences and memories. Using literary devices and applying it too my story. I've always been a good writer. My history teacher asked if i wanted him too pay me for my homework. He said my Homework was worth money. Songs are a bit harder too write but as I grew in writing poetry. I was then able too write songs. They're almost the same thing. I just wrote like how I normally do but made it rhyme and I told a story. One of my stories songs that I wrote, was about the love of my life. the one that got away. i try to start with ideas. And people always thing poems need to rhyme or flow really well that is not always the case, sometimes it can just have a message or a cool meaning. Like I wrote this poem about an ant walking around the surface of a rose but I wasn't entirely clear about what was even going on, just kind of describing the colors, movements, and the shapes. I think it created a cool atmosphere because by the last line it had been revealed what was really happening in the poem. Not really sure other than that. Have a good vocab ig? That always helps with any type of writing. In my poems I usually try new ideas like with the ant thing. It doesn't always have to be real gimmicky thats just how I like my writing.

I've written poems before, albeit subpar but I tried. I am a pretty decent writer to begin with, though.
