What is the best advice you can give for managing your daily chronic pain? I have been taking Lyrica since 2017, but have gained almost 100 Lbs since starting it and I am so over it. I am willing to be open to trying new techniques.

Lol. Haha. Stupid autocorrect. I meant to say “reactivate” not “deactivate” 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

This is all great information. Thank you everyone for your input. I really appreciate it. I will find a YMCA and deactivate my membership so I can swim. @FatBirdTRex I will also try your suggestions as well. Thank you again everyone! 🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ugh, Lyrica is the worst! Well, it was the best until I gained a ton of weight and then it stopped working. It was good for me when I got off of it, I think it'll be the same for you. So I've got a couple of things I use for daily pain- the first is a GABA solution named CopaCalm. It really helps with that 'overwhelmed' flaring feeling, but it also seems to help just during the day. The second thing is cannabis, which may not be available to you or desirable for you. But the amount it did to quell flaring and general soreness surprised me, and it didn't drag on me like the lyrica did. Other helpful things are to get a moist heat pad (I use something called a Bed Buddy) to target specific spots, and either a body brush and/or one of those face rollers to help manually work out the myofascia under the skin.

I was trying so hard to think of what helps my chronic pain (besides Marijuana because I know that isn't everyone's thing) but dimplez made an excellent suggestion! If you have access to a body of water, swimming is GREAT for easing joints and body pain. It's great exercise and doesn't feel strenuous or painful. It's the one thing that's helped me tremendously, especially when it comes to trying to be more active. I was on prednisone for my autoimmune condition and gained 80lbs in one year so I feel for you (and I've always been a big person to begin with). It sucks so much, but I suggest seeing if there's another medicine tour doctor is willing to prescribe.

I take gabapentin for my pain and I’ve gained 75 pounds since 2020 and I think the weight gain has also caused some issues with my chronic pain. Ask your dr for another medication you can try and swimming helps a lot with the pain.
