Hi, I'm Toof! I struggle with depression and OCD, and I'm just looking for any alternative treatments for either or ways to motivate myself through my days. my medication really helps, but sometimes I need an extra push, and I don't know what that is yet.
nice to meet you toof:•) some alternative things I find helpful for OCD + Depression would probably be herb supplements or tea (lemon balm is the best for OCD as is lions mane.) minimizing caffeine intake, cold shower therapy for 2 mins + aromatherapy, grounding barefoot outside for few mins, getting sunlight, hot baths, nourishing meals, (I do keto carnivore diet) going on walks, going to church + reading the Bible and prayer. also talking to someone you trust about the thoughts Is helpful. Good luck!
For me the extra push comes from cannabis, but it’s also a part of my general medication regimen. It really helps bring me back and find some better footing to get through harder times.. it really helps with my ruminating and ordering symptoms as well as suicidal/self harm ideation. When I’m really depressed, sometimes it’s the only thing that will help me find space in myself to laugh again
