Hello. I am new here. I am looking for ways to be less anxious and more productive. yes I have a lot going on but need ways to cope. the meds I was on caused a lot of discomfort and unstabilityness. any suggestions? I always have a tough time after my 2 days off. going back is hard even though I love my job. I'm ready for a new way of looking at the work week? so much trauma has made my "Sunday nights bad" thanks inadvance! I am excited to see what this group is all about!
Hi, welcome! It's really difficult to get yourself moving when you don't have motivation. I suggest taking a shower then sit down and make a to do list of maybe 5 or less things you'd like to accomplish, and start there.
One of the biggest things I have found to help is DBT, especially the distress tolerance skills. They’re easy to find online and take practice but can be very helpful. Another thing I’ll sometimes do is to clear my head of clutter in the evening. Basically I take my phone notes app or a notebook, and jot down everything I’m thinking about. Could be worries, things that I need to do, ways I’m feeling, etc. It helps so you’re not having a super tough time laying in bed and trying to anxiously remember everything. It can make the week ahead seem less difficult. Also maybe set small incentives. Like “I will try to make it to Wednesday and practice self care daily”, and once Wednesday comes around reward yourself with something small like a favorite snack or treat, or watching a movie.
LotusPug will you PLEASE give me information on what you're doing for your gut health? I JUST googled a little bit ago "how to heal your gut" lol. I'm starting wonder how many of my health problems, mental and physical, are because of my gut
