Is humor a good way to deal with OCD? I noticed a lot of my humor can sometimes lean on the absurd type and I think its because of the way I deal with thoughts like ‘light your cat on fire’ used to give me a ton of anxiety but now I just turn the torch up higher and shout ‘light him up!’ To preface, i dont know if this is genuinely a good way to manage OCD I dont have an OCD therapist, just wanting to see if others are similar. I just noticed Im not as antsy around fire and torches now which is good because it was preventing me from doing my meds. Do you also use humor and has it helped or worsened your issues?
