Dad told me starving myself and drinking water will fix my flare up and he refuses to take me to the hospital? Do flare ups go away on their own? My body is reject any solid food or liquid and it’s extremely painful. I’ve lost 15lbs in the past 2 weeks. Help!

I have heard of people being able to control UC through their diet, but it never worked that way for me. The only thing that's gotten my flares under control once they start is to take prednisone. I'd recommend drinking something like Boost or Ensure if your body can tolerate it so that you can still get some nutrients. I hope you feel better soon and I'm sorry your dad isn't being helpful. ❤️
